Hey,

I'll take the GMAT on Tuesday, September 4th. I really feel that I haven't finished preperation, but I'll be on a trip for 2 weeks, then move to another city and start studying in an master of information technology programme. Due to all this trouble in the near future i thought I should give it a try... perhaps the luck is with me :) If its too bad, I'll do further preperation and do it again next year, as soon as I feel really good prepared.

Now, what do you think, based on my prep-scores, the final result will be? :wink:
570 (44/25) June 23rd, GMATPrep1
630 (42/34) June 30rd, MGMAT1
660 (45/35) July 27th, MGMAT2
600 (45/28 ) August 3rd, PrincetonReview1
670 (47/34) August 28th, MGMAT3
650 (49/29) September 2nd, GMATPrep2

Hm, make a strategical guess 8)

Some special advises for tomorrow and test day?

Yeah, I did a 690 (Q48/V38)! :D

The most annoying thing is that I mixed up slope and intercept, due to my not sooo perfect English abilities. I realized this mistake on the second question about the x/y-coordinate-plane. Maybe I would have cracked the 700 if I would have concentraded some more on learning vocabulary... but never mind: I was really surprised by my verbal score - I never had such a good result in my prep tests before!

In about 1 1/2 year I'll be back from studying in Australia. Perhaps I'll give the test then another try, directly before applying for a MBA programm?!

@Mods: Perhaps this topic can be moved to "I beat the GMAT!"?

thanks for the congratulations!

i prepard with the "guided self study GMAT prep plus" of manhatten gmat, including all the manhatten gmat strategy guides and the official guides. i also bought princeton review's "cracking the gmat" and kaplan's "gmat 800" and "gmat premier program". i thought i could really crack the gmat with all that stuff... :wink:

of course, i neither finished the course nor did i have the time to take a look into kaplan's books or that of princeton review (i prepared for little more than 2 months, 1-2 hours nearly every evening after work and about 2-3 hours nearly every saturday and sunday). in that time i did about 25% of the og-questions (following the manhatten gmat course)... sc's been my weakest area (~ 60% correct), quant was around ~ 90%.

because i hadn't finished anything, i thought of rescheduling, but due to my above described plans and commitments, i gave it a try - knowing that there would be a lot of place for improvements. now i'm a little bit confused; i thought i would score - if i were successful - in the lower 30s in verbal (and around 650 at all and retake the test after a lot of further preparation), but i never thought that i could score a 38 in verbal; knowing that verbal would be my weaker area. hm, overall i'll perhaps retake the test in a year or one and a half, after i finished studying one year in australia... i hope that'll improve my english skills. with learning for the gmat, parallel to studying, i think i'll have good chances to raise my score then... :wink:

awa is 5.5 - i never wrote an essay before and i'm really happy with that score! 8)
