34. A certain roller coaster has 3 cars, and a passenger is equally likely to ride in any 1 of the 3 cars each time that passenger rides the roller coaster. If a certain passenger is to ride the roller coaster 3 times, what is the probability that the passenger will ride in each of the 3 cars?
1. 0
2. 1/9
3. 2/9
4. 1/3
5. 1

can anyone explain why the answer is 2/9 ?

This has been answered before but here is my take on the problem

He has a 100% prob of choosing the first car, a 2/3 prob of choosing 2 out of the remaining 3 cars and a 1/3 chance of choosing the 3rd car he has not been in

Prob 1st scenario and 2nd scenario and 3rd scenaro happening

1x2/3x1/3=2/9
