Evaluate my Analysis of an Issue

"Some have argued that the salaries of corporate executives should be linked to those of their lowest-paid employees. This, they argue, will improve relations between management and workers, reducing costly labor disputes and increasing worker productivity. What these people overlook, however, is that these high salaries are necessary to attract the best managers, the individuals whose decisions have the greatest impact on the overall well-being of the company.

The issue of salaries of corporate executives to be linked to those of their lowest paid employees is a controversial one. On the one hand high salaries are important to attract best managers , on the other hand huge difference in salary of executives and lowest paid employees results in disputes and low worker productivity. However, in the final analysis, I believe salaries of corporate executives should not be linked to those of their lowest paid employees.

One reason for my belief is the business world has shrinked and there is lot of competition among companies to hire best of talent. Under these circumstances if a company does not pay equal or well enough to its top executives then it is most likely that the executive will switch over to the companys competitor. This can cause losses to the present company.

Another reason for my belief is the talent needs to be rewarded. It is a known fact that executives have the greatest impact on the overall well-being of the company. So if monetary motivation is not there then these executives might not be willing to usher their full potential and help the company grow.

Third reason for my belief is that it is not necessary that with salaries of corporate executives linked to those of their lowest paid employees will result in a better relations between management and workers , which in turn will reduce costly labour disputes and increase worker productivity. Workers must be paid well enough according to their potential and to increase workers productivity various other measures should be taken , but to associate salaries of corporate to lowest paid employees may not acheive the target.

In the final analysis I believe that best talent can be attracted by paying them the best of salaries and so no compromise should be done on that front. Top talent have the greatest impact on the overall well being of the company and so they should be paid high salaries.
