plz solve these 2 ds prob

What is the value of x?
(1) – (x + y) = x - y
(2) x + y = 2


The symbol ▽ represents one of the following operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division. What is the value of 3 ▽ 2?
(1) 0▽1 = 1
(2) 1▽0 = 1

for first question: A is the answer.. solve for x.. x=0. from 2 we don't know anything about y.

for second question : again A is the correct answer..
coz if u take statement 1 then only ADDITION will satisfy it..
0-1 = -1
0/1 = 0
0*1 = 0
0+1 = 1
so 3 +2 = 5
hence suff.

but if u take 2, then 1-0 = 0
and 1+0 = 0
so 3+2 = 5
or 3-2 = 1
hence insuff.

but if u take 2, then 1-0 = 0
and 1+0 = 0
so 3+2 = 5
or 3-2 = 1
hence insuff.
for 2nd one:
IMO-D

1- 0 = 0(REALLY? :shock: )
