I'm 31 and work for a mid-size Telco in the Western US.
I'm an implementation project manager
I just read that schools are preferring younger candidates for full time positions.
My eventual goal is to get into consulting and I'm guessing I'm already late being 31 to apply to full time programs. Is this true ?
My target is to get into a top 20 school in Fall 09 and since I'm having a technology background, I'd be more focused on tech schools - which makes sense I guess. I think it's too late to make a cut into Finance.

I'd greatly value your opinions on these.

Dear pbanavara,

I don't think it is too late for you. True, you will be one of the more experienced in a full-time program, but by no means will you be the oldest. If you want to make a career change, a full-time program is your best option. You should focus your energy on putting together a strong application and not worry about your age.

Having said that, I think if you wait any longer, then you will be at a high enough experience level that you might find an EMBA more palatable.
