Tennis racquets

by NehaBhandari » Sat Dec 06, 2008 7:36 pm
Companies that manufacture tennis racquets rely only on competitive tennis players to pay for the technological advances in racquet design. Because of this reliance, advances continue to be limited by standards set by international tennis associations.

Which of the following is an assumption made in drawing the above conclusion?

1 Tennis associations that set standards for the sport and its equipment are uninformed about possible advances in racquet design.

2 The demand for less expensive tennis racquets remains relatively constant despite new technological advances.

3 The majority of competitive tennis players have no use for equipment that falls outside the standards set by tennis associations.

4 Very little pressure exists for tennis racquet companies to develop new racquet technology.

5 Tennis racquet companies would benefit from better promotion of new technology to tennis associations that set the standards for tennis equipment.

C

Majority do not have use for

Negate it

Means "Few competitive players have use for equipment that falls outside standard...."

Conclusion falls apart

Means " advances are not limitted to stanfard set only by International tennis assocations"

It's the same as the bicycle question - just the sport name and context has been changed.
