"Being" is often incorrect; it should raise a red flag, but if there is NOT a better answer choice, it is sometimes correct.

"Being" can be acceptable when used as a gerund (a noun):

Being comfortable on an airplane is next to impossible.

What you generally want to AVOID on the GMAT is the use of "being" to show Passive Voice:

INCORRECT: He stopped at the fast food restaurant being hungry.

Usually sentences with "being" are in passive voice and have secondary errors in them like wordiness or redundancy.
