The area of triangle = 1/2*base*height

Base of triangle TR = TO - RO = c - 1
Height of triangle = Length of perpendicular drawn from S to base RT,
which is same as y-coordinate of point S i.e. b

Area = 1/2(c-1)(b). Choice B

What made you confirm its a Right-angled triangle.
The question mentions in rectangular coordinate system..

Area = 1/2(c-1)(b). Choice B
RM is absolutely correct. The area formula 0.5*base*altitude is not only for a right angled triangle, but in fact is a general triangle area formula, which can be applied on all the triangles.
