The figure above shows the dimensions of a rectangular box that is to be completely wrapped with paper. If a single sheet of paper is to be used without patching, then the dimensions of the paper could be
length=20 breadth =8 height =2
(A) 17 in by 25 in
(B) 21 in by 24 in
(C) 24 in by 12 in
(D) 24 in by 14 in
(E) 26 in by 14 in

Both sides of paper should be at least 20: length of the box alone is 20, so one of sides of paper should be at least 20, now the other side of the paper should be at least 8 + 2 + 8 + 2 = 20. So at least 20 x 20, and actually the paper should be more like 21-22 x 20. We are lucky that only one answer satisfies the most basic requirement.
