external environment and internal conditions, and in using the set of objective criteria they derive
from these analyses, can decide on a strategy.
A. conditions, and in using the set of objective criteria they derive from these analyses, can decide
B. conditions, and they use the set of objective criteria derived from these analyses in deciding
C. conditions and, in using the set of objective criteria derived from these analyses, deciding
D. conditions and, using the set of objective criteria derived from these analyses, decide
E. conditions and, in their use of the set of objective criteria they derive from these analyses, they
decide
My question is "why is B incorrect?"
In B, the elements joined by and are parallel.

executives (Subject) examine(verb) a firm's external environment and internal conditions, AND
they (Subject) use (verb)
Could someone explain why is B incorrect here?

what is they referring to: conditions or executives? They is creating confusion. Some times pronouns can make your life difficult.

Can anyone explain me one thing? I am not sure about the function of 'and,'...what is the difference between ',and' and 'and,'?For example,If I say 'I go to school, and I really like going school.' and if I say I go to school and,I really like going school.',what will be the difference?Thanks

In my opinion your second statement is wrong. The correct usage is the first one. The purpose of commas in a sentence is to take a pause and say something additional.
