LSE MSc. Management & Strategy

by nirmanagrawal » Sat Sep 25, 2010 5:55 am
Dear folks,
I am interested in applying to the MSc. Management and Strategy course of LSE. Following is my profile

1. BE Computer Science and MSc Mathematics - Top 5 Engineering colleges India - 7.26/10
2. Work Ex: 2 years entrepreneurship
3. GMAT - 750
4. Extra curriculars- excellent (lot of initiatives, leadership roles, bplan competitions)

I worked on a unique idea in my entrepreneurship stint and wish to extend that to management. My short term aim is to get into Management consulting and my long term aim is to start a innovation consulting company..

I would be really glad if someone can review my profile and help me understand, if I stand a chance at getting through to LSE...

Many Thanks

Dear Nirman,

I do think you have a chance at LSE with your profile. However, it is not enough to have the numbers. Your high GMAT and GPA will be assets to your application, but you must also use the other application components to demonstrate why this is the right program for you in relation to your career goals. Likewise, you need to find a way to stand out from similar applicants. Your entrepreneurship experience might be helpful in this regard, as well as any other activities and interests you have. Submitting a strong, overall package will give you the best chance for a positive decisions--use every aspect to your advantage.

Best of luck,
Lisa

Hello Lisa,
Thanks so much for the insights into my profile.
I needed the initial affirmation on starting up with my application.
I would put in the effort to package my application taking cues from your insights.
Thanks again.

Cheers
