Help with statement of purpose

by LV15 » Thu Jun 11, 2009 7:24 am
I did some research on previous posts and found useful info. But I still have some questions.

1. Is there a specific format I should follow: educational background, work experience, career goals, life lessons, etc?

2. What key areas or topics should I definately hit, asides from the obvious ones?

I guess I'm trying to get the feel of what a quality statement of purpose should look like. Thanks in advance Stacy.

Dear LV15,

Unless a school specifies a particular format, then you can write your Statement however it seems to flow best for you. Many people find a chronological order to their background is easiest as it allows you to give background to why you made the choices you have in your education and career. Ideally, you want the reader to have an understanding as to why you want to go to business school in relation to your past experience and future career goals.

Good luck,
Lisa
