My Guess 'D'.

This sounds good both Logically and Grammatically.

"Contributions made by" seems to be a correct usage here. Hence I would go with 'D'.
What is the OA?

OA is C
The original sentence says the foundation occurred in the past; also, to use "stems"
for present perfect implies that the "foundation" is usually feature of the contributions
by the 2 brothers.
