Galileo's theory that ours was indeed a solar system, in which earth and other planets revolve around the sun, reinforced those of copernicus.

a) ours was indeed a solar system, in which earth and other planets revolve around the sun, reinforced those of copernicus
b) ours was indeed a solar system, in which earth and other planets revolve around the sun, reinforced that of copernicus
c) earth and other planets revolve around the sun in our solar system, reinforces that of copernicus

Is it not the complete sentence should be in present tense...
I picked choice c.. is placement of phrase " in our solar system" wrongly placed in choice c)

Thanks

IMO 'reinforced and reinforces' both are ok, but the problem in C is with the pplacement of IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM. From C, it appears as if SUN is PART OF SOLAR SYSTEM not EARTH AND PLANETS, but original sentence says SUN/EARTH/PLANETS are all part of solar system (that why used IN WHICH to modify SOLAR SYSTEM).
