In her candid autobiography, the author discusses her early years, her desire to become an actress, and how she made her debut on the stage.

A) to become an actress, and how she made

B) that she become an actress, and how she made

C) to become an actress, and

D) that she become an actress, and

E) that she become an actress and that she make

please clarify, is there any space between "be and come" in option A???????????? If its one complete word "become" in option A then i would have gone for A.....................wats the OA????????????

I made a typo and corrected the original post, thanks for pointing it out.

The answer given is C, but I think this changes the meaning of the sentence. I agree that the answer should be A.

i was confused bw A & C option but went for A ............ C can be correct if we read like this discusses x,y & z.............wats the OA????????

i chose A because i removed the part under the comma and then tried to make a sentence..................

The sentence states that the author discusses three things. These three things must be parallel in structure. the first two elements: "her early years" and "her desire to become an actress" are parallel noun phrases, but the third element "how she made her debut on the stage" is a verb phrase and is not parallel to the other two. To make them parallel, the third part must be modified as follows: "her early years"; "her desire to become an actress"; and "her debut on the stage".

Please note that "author discusses how she made her debut on the stage" is practically the same as "author discusses her debut on the stage" and therefore C does not change the meaning of the sentence.
