MBA w/ no work experience?

I graduated with an electrical engineering degree with a 2.8 gpa, took the GMAT and scored a 610, graduated 2 years ago and dont have any real work experience other than helping my parents at their work. I want to go to a business school now; i am thinking about going to depaul. What are my chances of getting into a good business school?

Is it worth it to go to a mediocre B school, and can i get in with my credentials?

The whole point of going to a business school is to reach your career goal. So if you are certain about where you want to be, then think about a Business degree. The merits of going to a good business school are certainly big. So you might want to go to the best (based on your personal parameters) possible school.

You GPA is on the lower side. You have a pretty decent GMAT score. Now the question is would you be able to convince the admissions staff that you will be able to handle the rigorous academic curriculum inspite of a low GPA? if you can then your chances are pretty decent. Now you cannot get into a good school by saying that you pretty much did not do anything for the past 2 years. This is not to discourage you but i would suggest you to really think about what actually have you done in the past 2 years. Did you help your parents in a family business? what valuable experience did you gain out of it? Do you want to do an MBA to take this business to the next level? Did you do any volunteer work in during this time? Did you develop any unique interests, if so work upon it.

In sum its up to you to show the adcom that your glass is half full rather than half empty!

you said you want to go to b-school now... i ask you.. do you NEED to go to b-school now? if so... why? that's a question you'll need to have a stock answer for.
