The OA is definitely E.

x^y>1 ?

Statement I

x>1, we dont know anything about y, therefore insufficient.

Statement II

y<1

we dont know anything about y, therefore insufficient.


Combining I & II


x>1, y<1

x = 2
y = -1

x^y = 1/2 = 0.5 < 1

x=2
y=0

x^y = 2^0 = 1 = 1

Therefore insufficient.

Hence E is the answer.
