p please

What is the value of p?

(1) p = qr where q + r= 20 and q is a factor of r.

(2) |p| = |q + r| where |q + r| = 30.

IMO : C
P = -30. By both the statements, p = 30 or -30 from second statement.
by first put both the values of p and then get the one that satisfies first statement. hence p = -30.

both the statements seem to contradict each other. in statement 1, q + r = 20, however, in statement 2, |q + r| = 30.

am i missing something?

you're right BM, seems that I must consider some edit work to it, else it cannot be an ideal GMAT problem, so thanks.
