What is the median number of employees assigned per project for the projects at
Company Z?
(1) 25 percent of the projects at Company Z have 4 or more employees assigned to
each project.
(2) 35 percent of the projects at Company Z have 2 or fewer employees assigned to
each project.

median will be the number of employees assigned to a project with 50% project have more number of employees and rest 50% has less
if there are 100 projects then it will be mean of 50th and 51st projects number of employees

From 1
we know employee number of 25%>=4....so median must be less than 4 but not sure of the number...not sufficient

From 2
we know employee number of 35%<=2....so median must be more than 2 but not sure of the number...not sufficient

combining,
40% projects have 3 employees...median is 3...sufficient
Ans option C

Lets take statement (1) 25 percent of the projects at Company Z have 4 or more employees assigned to
each project.

lets say there n projects 25n/100 have greater than 4 employees, insufficient as no data is provided for the 75% of the projects

rule out A,D

(2) 35 percent of the projects at Company Z have 2 or fewer employees assigned to
each project.

lets say there are n projects 35n/100 have 2 or less than 2 employees assigned to it, no data is provided for 65% of the projects

rule out (A,B,D)

options left C,E

Lets combine statement 1 and statement 2

-------25n/100--------------|------------40n/100---------|-----------35n/100-------------------|
employees>4 on projects| employees 3 on projects|employees <=2 on project |

median in case of even series is the middle two values which are 3 and 3 so (3+3)/2 = 3

hence (C)

Because in statement 1 it is mentioned that 25% has 4 or more which includes 5
