In GMAT, infinitive is always preferred over “-ing” form. Always, avoid “being” and “-ing” form. Also, “would” is used when some future event is likely to happen. “Could” is either used as past tense of “can” or a polite request. The given sentence talks about a future event, so neither of the usage of “could” fits the bill. Hence, I would prefer “would” over “could.”

its b/w A and C....C changes the meaning of the sentence by using "would"

could -- capability in past future
would--certain in past future

May I ask where you found this information? I am very interested in studying it.

I also picked "C" because it sounds correct to me as a native English speaker. I am not sure how to explain why it is correct, however.

It's like a cliche in GMAT world. Check Erin's flash cards, page#13 and #6.
