I'm working on perfecting a version of my resume for applications. I've read some varying opinions on whether education or work experience should be listed first. I graduated from college in 2009. Which should be first? Does it matter?

Normally I would put work experience first. The logic is very simple - most important goes first. And after several years work experience, I would say that it is safe to say that that is more important than your education.

Thanks for your quick answer. Another admissions consulting firm has in their "resume" guide, to list education first if it's been less than five years since you graduated.
Any one else want to chime in or is this a relatively consistent view that work should go first? In my professional resume I have it first, but I know that your application resume is a slightly different animal. If it makes any difference, I feel my educational history is slightly stronger than my work experience.
