Possibility & Strategy ?

by marik » Wed Dec 05, 2012 9:02 am
Background :
Decided to Give GMAT in Sep 2012 end , Collected books , Manhattan GMAT Series and OG13.
Used PowerSCore for Critical Reasoning.
As i wanted to apply for ISB , Deadline NOV 30,2012 , i scheduled my GMAT for 30 Nov.
Break of 9-10 days as i had to Travel on for Video Essay of ISB to my Base Office and other aspects.( Octber Mid )
Prepared everyday from Oct 24 till Nov 28
Parallel writing of Essays, Till Nov 28, i could only finish the OG once , and Did the Diagnostic Tests at the begning of OG.

DID NOT get time to do any full length tests.( Infact the first full length test was my actual GMAT exam , on 30 Nov )
Flew on 28th night to City KOLKATA, India 700 kms away to give my exam , gave the GMAT on 30th NOV, Scored a 6 4 0 ( Quant 45 , Verbal 34 )

Question :
1. Is it possible to improve my score to the 740-760 level ?
2. What should be my strategy for the same ?

You definitely need to do quite a few tests before retaking the exam - you need to build up stamina and work on your time-management. I think the most efficient way of improving your performance would be a comprehensive course. If you choose to work by yourself, you should keep record of mistakes that you make, identify your weak subjects and make sure you work on improving these particular types of questions.
