Dear Phd guy,

Your GMAT score is very high and does mitigate your undergraduate GPA. However, I'm not so sure your GPA is that low. For an Indian school, a 74% is usually above average. You might consider having your transcript evaluated for an accurate translation to the 4.0 scale. Likewise, if you already hold an MBA, you need to verify with any schools you are considering that you are eligible to apply. Most US business schools will not award someone the same degree--thus if you already have an MBA equivalent to a US MBA, then you are probably not eligible to apply.

Good luck,
Lisa

Madam,
I have an MBA, but I am applyin for only Phd,so the eligibility wont be an problem right.(you said: Most US business schools will not award someone the same degree--thus if you already have an MBA equivalent to a US MBA, then you are probably not eligible to apply.) but i am applyin for phd, so Mba must be an added advantage right

my mark in Undergrad is 74%(INDIAN) so nearly 3.5 gpa, with MBA 88% and my Gmat score is 770?

do i have chance in colleges like Harvard, Stanford,Yale and pennsylvania for Phd in Marketing?. what colleges should I apply to?

For getting into Phd should I publish In some journals Before?
what journals for marketing is preferable..\

most Important - do i have chance of getting in?

PhD admissions is quite different from MBA admissions. My expertise is in MBA admissions, so I'm not sure I can be of much help to you. Your academic marks (GPA and GMAT) are high, so that is always an advantage. Beyond that, your area of research interest and reason for pursuing a PhD are significant factors in the admissions process. In my estimation, I would suspect being published would be helpful, but not a requirement.

Good luck,
Lisa
