GMAT Score:710
i took my GMAT last wednesday. I scored a dismal 660(Q48,V33).
The vast difference between my Quant and Verbal is something i need to close without letting my Quant drop.
I wanted to get back to my books this weekend but i thought i am a bit burned out.
I spent 3.5 months studying for the GMAT with extreme dedication and all the right resources that i could possibly use.
Screwed up on the test day by guessing at the last 6-7 questions in CR which proved too costly in the end and dropped my scores.

Anyway, i just wanted to know, how long a break do people feel is necessary before hitting the books again and stepping on the gas?
Also, since i know my CR is weak, how should i start again?
I have used the OG 12, Verbal Review, Kaplan 800 V, Kaplan Verbal Workbook and Kaplan Premier Edition for questions
and Powerscore CR bible and MGMAT CR for strategy ( note, only talking about CR here).

How should i improve my CR for a retake?
On my GMAT preps i had consistently scored in the range of 700 to 740 ( by retaking 1 and 2 twice).
I've also exhausted all available CATs -> MGMAT 6 CATs, Kaplan 5, Powerscore 2, GMAT prep 4, 800 score (2 are left but the questions are off base, only used it as timing practise).

after doing all of this, i have realised that on my test day i had to guess on so many questions because of timing issues in Verbal. Quant was a breeze for me and i scored a 48in it. (also helps since am an engineer.)

If you feel that you are a bit burned out, it is definitely advisable to take a break. People normally take 2-3 months of break or sometimes even 6-months. It really depends on when you are ready to come back to books. You need to take a call on this! But remember that when you take a long break, you need to start again from scratch (strategies, concepts). If you take a short break such as a week or two, you may already have all strategies in place and you may just need to brush up all strategies.

I don't think this is a right method to study. Studying strategies from multiple books such as Kaplan, MGMAT, Powerscore. Because all 3 employ different strategies and it may confuse you rather help you. I would advise you to stick to one book, read all strategies and make a note of different types of questions in CR (remember how to attack each and every question type). These are just my thoughts

Maybe some experts could give you a more detailed plan on how to attack CR questions. Good luck!
