“Successful individuals typically set their next goal somewhat—but not too much—above their last achievement. In this way, they steadily raise their level of aspiration.”
In your opinion, how accurate is this statement? Explain, using specific reasons and examples from your reading, your own experience, or your observation of others.

ANSWER

Above statement is explaining one of the strategy used by successful individuals. The statement is saying that successful individuals don't stop at some point or even they don't get satisfied with the limited or easy success. These individuals always try to achieve something more as compared to there earlier achievements. I indeed agree witht the author and I too think that this strategy could be really effective

First of all, everyone needs to improve in there life on continues basis. If one stops improving or feels satisfied with the limited success that he can achieve with minimum efforts, chances are that that individual might not progress at all. Steadily raised level of aspirations generally strech individual's efforts and at the end the individual ends in achieving something "more" in life. Even if he fails or achieves limited success in few occassions then also he doesn't loose anything. Moreover he can always feel proud about his efforts.

To support my claims I would like to provide example of Indian business tycoon Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani. Mr. Ambani started his life as a small petrol pump operator. But at the end of his life he was a owner of the billion dollar business group. He attributed his success too many different reasons. One of those reasons is steadily raising level of aspiration with each success. Similar to Mr Ambani's business group, one can see businesses such as Intel, Google and Microsoft are successful as each year they are trying to provide better and better products. These companies haven't stopped at any particular point. For automobile giant, Toyota, the word "continues improvement" is mantra of the sucess. Over last few decades company is number one because of its thirst for continues improvement and steady progress.

To conclude I think that the mentioned strategy is very effective. But one should always set next goal somewhat—but not too much—above their earlier successes. Along with that sincere attention should be given to systematic planning, step by step execution policy and other priorities in life too.
