If you travel at a rate of 6mph for 50 minutes (5/6 of an hour), then you will travel a distance of 6 miles x 5/6 hour = 5 miles.

I'm not sure where the 300 comes in, or what you are trying to convert. Was this part of an original GMAT Q?
