Please provide a solution for the following:

Question 1:

Is x+y < 1?

1) x<8/9
2) y< 1/8

1.The answer is C.
1.Not suffiecient, no information about y.

2. Not sufficient, no info about x.

combined:
sufficient, X and Y both values are given.x+y> 1.
