What is wrong in C?

Inconsistent verb forms in the sentence, has done <perfect tense> should be does as in A and E. BTW, is the OA E

IMO - E

Between A and E , I chose E because "summarizing" in A looked like a wrong form of the verb.

"he" can not refer to " possesive" so B and D is out

"dose more than " must be followed by a noun so E is out

"mearly sumarising" is not pure noun because it has adverb and object at the same time, a situation is not recommended.

C is correct

IMO E
IMO choice is between A and E
if we remove "more than merely", does summarizing is wrong.
so E
OA plz

does more than should be followed by a noun. Is this in manhattan SC? I am kinda getting concerned about remembering so many tids and bits like these!!!
200 or 800. It don't matter no more.

What's wrong with A:

Question says Degler does more than "summarizing". Here "summarizing" should NOT be taken as a verb. This should be taken as a noun. Had it been "Degler does summarize existing research...." I would have gone with A because here "summarize" works as a verb.

Since in the question it acts as a noun, the correct usage should be "summarizing".

Please clarify my doubt :(

I will go with A.

B - cannot be referred by He.
C - Changes the meaning ( Tells that he doesn't do anymore)
D - cannot be referred by He.
E - (summarize existing research)... Doesn't sound right.

Imagine this sentence - I have done more this weekend than just watching TV. We don't say - than just watch TV, do we?

i will go with E as i consider it is a tense problem (...Not "considering it as a tense problem"....lol)

If you take into account the 'than just' then can you think of any sentence?

- I did more this evening than just playing basketball.
- I took into account a lot of things, than just taking something in account.

One you mentioned use of Consider/considering that doesn't follow the same sentence structure as the one given in problem.

Problem with A :

merely summarizing

An adverb cannot modify a gerund/noun.
(E) Degler does more than merely summarize
problem with E:
Degler .......summarize (subject verb disagreement).


C is out because of the change of tense in it.

Don't know what to pick now.

because "more than" indicates a comparison the form of summarize must be parallel to the word constructs therefore the only word that works is E - has done is the verb in C and that is not parallel.

lol....seems like i got it right this time as well

i dont know why it doesnt happen in sentence correction during real mock test
may be just good in parts...lol
