sentence correction meaning

by rajadya » Fri Dec 23, 2011 12:04 pm
In a sentence correction problem, if question stem/choice A is obviously flawed grammatically, do I assume that the awkward meaning presented in A is the author's intent when evaluating the the other choices?

In other words, if choice C offers a grammatically correct option with a slightly different, maybe even more sensible meaning than what is presented in the question stem, do I immediately rule it out?

awkward meaning: How do you define this meaning? Can you give a few examples?
If it is ambiguous meaning, the we need to look for an option in which ambiguity is elimated

If 'C' is the only one answer choice in which grammar and meaning is clear. Then go for it.
Again, make sure that all other choices have either grammatical errors or ambiguous meanings.
