There are a rectangle and a triangle as above figure. Each of triangles ABE's area and BOE's area is 4, what is the height(x) of the triangle ABE?
1) The rectangle BCDE is a square
2) The triangle ABE is an isosceles

If we modify the original condition and the question, we only need to know the length of BE. In the case of the condition 1), BE=4. The answer is unique and the condition is sufficient.
In the case of the condition 2), we cannot know BE, hence, not sufficient. Therefore, the correct answer is A.
- Forget conventional ways of solving math questions. In DS, Variable approach is the easiest and quickest way to find the answer without actually solving the problem. Remember equal number of variables and independent equations ensures a solution.
