Two-digit numbers

by umaa » Tue Jun 30, 2009 9:42 pm
If a and b are two-digit numbers that share the same digits, except in reverse order, then what is the sum of a and b?

1. a - b = 45

2. The difference between the two digits in each number is 5.

if digits are x and y
10X+y-10Y-x=45
x-y=5

2)same not suff
comined we still have the same equation

Consider 83, 38 and 72, 27...
both sets satisfy above statements..hence E
