(A) younger and the older viewers
(B) younger viewers and the older
(C) the younger and the older viewers
(D) younger and older viewers
(E) viewers who are younger and those who are older

my pick is ^d^.A B and E are out for the lack of paralellism. idiom is both x and y - x and y should be parallel. like the younger and the older people or younger and older people. among C and D , c is out cuz the is a definite article and
is used to refer to a specific or particular member of a group. but here we are talking about the general group of younger and older peopl e not a specific one. hence D
