Great question! How to practice the AWA is always the subject of lots of questions.

First, let me say that it is great that you are getting some practice with the AWA. It is important to simulate the full test so that you are ready on test day for the entire marathon!

Second, if you want to be able to look at your essays later or to send them to someone to review, I always recommend that students use some other format to write their essays rather than doing them within the practice test. Much easier to not lose your essays in another format. Just remember to turn off your spell check on Word.

Third, the Official Guide 12th edition has the list of all of the official AWA topics out there. (The Veritas Prep AWA lesson book has the topics as well as a framework for writing your best essay.) So you can just randomly choose a number and write about that topic. There is no end to the topics you can write about!
