E is out of scope

B is correct here. The question stem wants you to support the director's argument that the accusation is without merit. The accusation is that The Big Heist must have stole ideas from Thieves because it has similar plot twists/characters. If B is true, and both movies' plot twists/characters are similar to much of the earlier work within the genre, then The Big Heist could have been influenced by an earlier movie.
