(A) Having the right hand and arm being crippled by a sniper's bullet during the First World War
(B) In spite of his right hand and arm being crippled by a sniper's bullet during the First World War
(C) Because there had been a sniper's bullet during the First World War that crippled his right hand
and arm.
(D) The right hand and arm being crippled by a sniper's bullet during the First World War
(E) His right hand and arm crippled by a sniper's bullet during the First World War



Could you please explain the answer ? I didn't get why it is not B, as here contrast is demanded.

Could you please explain the answer ? I didn't get why it is not B, as here contrast is demanded.
I feel B would have been better if there was no being in the same.......

Meaning of Sentence - Since his hand & arm was crippled, Horace worked by......

B changes the meaning - it says - Even though his hand & arm was hit by bullet, Horace worked by.....

B is grammatically correct but since it changes meaning, it is incorrect.
