scored 650, is it worth taking again?

by karenmeow » Tue Sep 02, 2008 9:19 pm
hello, i took the gmat last month and scored 650. do you think its worth it to take it again?

on the gmat prep tests, i scored 650 on the first, 680 on the second.

i am planning on applying to usc where the avg is around 680... im wondering if its worth my time to study and take the test again!! :(

thanks!

Unless you are compensating for a weak GPA or work experience--I don't think it's worth your time to re-take the test. A 650 is really solid, and from what I understand, that's within the standard deviation of USC's average GMAT score. In other words, if you were to sit for the GMAT right now, you could feasibly earn a score that ranged between 620-680.

I'd say you are better off focusing on applications at this point--but that's just my opinion. :)

Good luck!

I'd pose the question to an MBA Admissions Consultant--but I don't change my opinion necessarily from that data.
