Now I agree the answer should be E because following the underline part, verb "is" indicates a singular noun/object. Thus, one of which clearly wins over one of them.

them does not have a clear antecedent...referring to either an offshoot or toys.Hence B,C and D are POE'ed.

A and E - one of which uses clear referent to noun toys.Also the phrase one of which requires the usage of preposition 'of' followed by the noun foam tube.

E is correct.
