Isn't B a fragment.

There is no verb in the main sentence.

Calculus, a subject offered to high school students planning to attend college involves the study of change, and is used in the fields of science and engineering, because it focuses on imits, derivatives, integrals, and infinite series.

The text in red can be removed, so what we get is :

Calculus, and is ....

It seems wrong to me. Comments?

B seems to be the best pick, though I must confess, I am not entirely convinced that B is structured right.

IMO none of the options are correct. A to D - all option uses incorrect puntuations [Independent Clause, Dependent Clause].

In B use of comma before 'is used' not correct - this should be used only when subject is different. Also, IT can refer to both SUBJECT & THE STUDY. If I have to pick I'll pick E
