Which of the following two sentence are correct:

I reached on the other side of the hill.

I reached the other side of the hill.

What is the grammatical rule for the word "reached" or any other such words??/

I am not an expert. However, I think both are correct.

only the second statement is correct. "on" is never after reach.

only the second statement is correct. "on" is never after reach.
In most cases, yes..As long as the destination is being mentioned immediately after the verb "reach", the above statement is correct..

Eg: I reached the airport on time.
I will be reaching the airport late.

The only case in which "on" will follow reach is when you follow it up with "time"..

Eg: He could not reach on time.
