Just like in the U.S., business schools in India are also ranked on the basis of the employment opportunities available to its students after passing out.

(A) Just like in the U.S., business schools in India are also ranked on the basis of the employment opportunities available to its students after passing out.

(B) Like in the U.S., business schools in India are ranked on the basis of the employment opportunities available to their students after passing out.

(C) As it is in the U.S., ranking of business schools in India is done on the basis of the employment opportunities available to the students after they pass out.

(D) Business schools in India are ranked on the basis of the employment opportunities available to students after passing out, just as it is in the U.S.

(E) Business schools in India are also ranked on the basis of the employment opportunities available to its students after passing out, just like in the U.S.

Plz. explain......

A is wrong coz it has "available to its students" Plural Pronoun required in place of "Its"

C no clear reference of it. Also it is worded akwardly.

D Again "IT" in the second part of the verb has no clear antecedent

E has same problem as A and it also has a modifier issue.


What is OA ?

I don't have OA for this question.
IMO C is better. "it" can be used to refer to "ranking". Although I am not sure if "they" is correctly referring to students or not
How can we use "like" to compare Business schools with US

i think they in choice C, refers to immediate noun Students.

But now i think, i am going towards C, because
"As it is in the U.S., ranking" the modifier "As it is in the U.S" modifies "ranking" correctly

whereas in B

"Like in the U.S., business schools " modifies business schools where as it should be "Ranking"..

the major principle they are testing for here is the modifier and C fixes that problem the best. i agree "they" in C is a concern, but not as big a concern at the one mentioned above.

my choice is C.
