What would be the remainder when (9^6) + 1 is divided by 8?

9^1 divided by 8 --> r=1
9^2 divided by 8 --> r=1

Remainder repeats for all powers of 9. so, 9^6 + 1 divided by 8 gives remainder of [spoiler]1+1 = 2[/spoiler].
