IMO : C

According to medieval monks, the remains of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere were found at Glastonbury Abbey in A.D. 1191, and Arthur's coffin marked with the inscription (in Latin): "Here Lies Arthurs, The Once and Future King."

a. and Arthur's coffin marked with the inscription : 'was marked' is required

b. Arthur's coffin marked with the inscription : again, 'was marked' is required

c. and the inscription was marked on Arthur's coffin : Correct

d. the inscription that was marked on the coffin of Arthur : fragment. Incomplete. '.. that was marked...'

e. the coffin of Arthur had the inscription marked : indicates that the coffin got the inscription marked which is nonsensical

one more for C.

I think it is the only option that connects 2 independent clauses correctly.

I go with B.

A) The word 'and' is incorrectly used here.

C) Ditto

D) Close but in comparison to B , the subject discussed in the sentence prior to the : is closer in B (Arthur's coffin)

E) Awkward construction.

Did a similar question yesterday in the verbal supplement (Scientists found sediments in the baltic sea) so good to see the concept is fresh in my mind (assuming it is correct) .
