(this is a long, detailed post)
*sigh* Here we go – my test date is next Saturday morning (Oct 18th) and I do not have the option of postponing my test date. (personal reasons). I also admit that I lacked any sense of structure and consistency with my studying. Technically I started reading the Kaplan Prep book mid/late summer and took a few of the tests. At the point I also went through flashcards, but didn’t stick to it and would go weeks without looking at the material. The last 3 weeks have probably been the only real study time I can point towards . . . in the last month, I started using the MGMAT CATs and re-using my OG. The only time I have to study is after work and on weekends. I try review my tests, but have gone every other day doing a few sets out of the OG(40 q’s a set). Not much, I know, but I am being honest so I can hustle up now . . .
I know that 60 points in 6 days is pretty unlikely, from what I have read on the boards . . . but I am going to give it my best. Luckily I scramble well under the gun like this. The only thing I can control now is how I go about the next 6 days to maximize my ability to tackle the exam.
Practice Test Scores: (in order as taken)
(In late July/August)
Kaplan CAT #1: 540 Q:24 V:36
Kaplan CAT #2: 540 Q:43 V:28
Kaplan CAT #3: 610 (raw section scores not on me right now)
(September)
GMAT Prep #1: 600 Q45 V29
MGMAT #1: 640 Q:43 V:35
MGMAT #2: 650 Q:41 V:38
(October)
MGMAT #3: 620 Q:42 V:33
MGMAT #4: 640 Q:42 V:36
Target Score: MUST reach a 690, but 700 is my target
Here is a quick snap shot from data on my 4 MGMAT CATs (thanks to the Assessment Reports). These are the Q levels I am working at.
Question Format : Avg. Difficulty RIGHT : Avg Difficulty WRONG
Problem Solving : 570 : 670
Data Sufficiency : 590 : 650
Sentence Correction : 660 : 700
Critical Reasoning : 660 : 710
Reading Comp : 610 : 670
So . . . Here is what I am trying to figure out
1) What should I focus on the most given I have 6 days?
2) I plan to take the 2nd GMAT Prep CAT tomorrow . . . how many CATs or sections should I use in the next week? How can I utilize the MGMAT CATs I purchased online? (still have 2 un-used ones as well)
3) I plan to do problems in the OG every day. Obviously I need to really practice hard on my Quant. How should I tackle this? I get stressed on the CATs, make stupid mistakes, or rush because I get squashed for time.
When I go over my mistakes after a test, I notice that in Verbal sections I get a lot of the 700 level questions (not that I get them right). How can I strengthen that? Or should I focus more on my weaknesses?
Sorry this post is so loaded, but ANY advice, tips, etc is welcome!
Anyone else attempting something similar in a week?
PLEASE HELP ME
