Whenever the product of two terms is 0, one of the terms must be 0. For example, if x*y=0, then either x=0 or y=0.Enginpasa1 wrote:what is the value of 5^2 +4x-1?
1.) x(x=2)=0
2. x=0
this sounds like an elementary question but why didnt I see -2 as a solution to the statement 1. I only saw 0.
Statement (1) is an example of a product of 0.
If x(x-2) = 0, then either x=0 or (x-2)=0. Therefore, x=0 or x=2.
