median amount student earned

Amount earned per day 96 84 80 70 48

Number of days 4 7 4 3 2

Student worked for 20 days. What is the median amount of money student earned per day for the 20 days?


My solution was: since median is asked, I arranged the amounts from least and then picked up 80.

The correct answer is 84.

Can I get some help here?

agree with Stuart, please post questions properly

anyway from info you've given the amounts will be like following

48,48,70,70,70,80,80,80,80,84,84,84,84,84,84,84,96,96,96,96

so 10, 11 term are 84 each and their average = 84 because number of terms is even
