We can plug in a value for x.
Let x=1:
√(x² - 6x + 9) + √(2 - x) + x - 3
= √(1² - 6*1 + 9) + √(2-1) + 1 - 3

= 1. This is our target.
Now we plug x=1 into all the answers to which yields our target of 1.
Only answer choice A works:
√(2-x) = √(2-1) = 1.
The correct answer is
