Cars come in many colors, which can be very cool or very ugly.

In the above sentence, WHICH modifies Cars or Colors? I am confused, Can anyone please correct this sentence?

"Which" modifies the noun which immediately preceeds the comma; in this case "colors".

But, isn't the use of "which" ambiguous in this sentence?
Is this sentence correct?

Can we write,

Cars, which come in many colors, can be very cool or very ugly?

In my opinion, both the sentences are grammatically correct. However, they differ in meaning.

Cars come in many colors, which can be very cool or very ugly.
This statement means that Cars come in many colors. Colors can be very cool or ugly.

Cars, which come in many colors, can be very cool or very ugly.
This statement means that Cars can be very cool or ugly irrespective of its colors and cars come in many colors.
