I recently took the GMAT in March and scored a 530. Pretty terrible I know. I was quite disappointed in myself and it was during a stressful time for me.

I need some advice on how to restudy for this stuff. I thought I was pretty good in math, but I suppose not as strong as I felt I should have been.

I would like to score over 600 on the test so some of the schools I am looking at will at least consider me for scholarships.

I bought the 2009 original guide, princeton 2009, and kaplan 2009 all on amazon.com tonight.

I am aiming for a testing date in late July or early August at the latest so I can prep for a November admissions process or so.

Let me know what strategy anyone suggests will help. I work until about 5 or 6 pm each day and go to bed at 10 pm sharp (5 am wake up). Some weekends I have business trips too, but not every weekend. Please help me out.

Hi Clevelander,

I wish you the best on your prep. Honestly I don't think the books you purchased will give you the best practice on their own. You must at least have the Official Guide, and I would recommend the Official Guide Companion as well (from GMATFix).

Anyway, as far as strategy is concerned, I've taken the test twice and kind of like you I was disappointed with my first score and I knew I could do better, so I changed strategies. In my debrief you can read about the strategies tht didn't work and those that did work for me. I hope you find it helpful www.tinyurl.com/gmatpost

ps. 5am sharp wake up? I don't think I could do it. Most days I go to bed around that time! Best of luck, except for LeBron and the Cavs :-)
