Fossils of the arm of a sloth found in Puerto Rico in 1991, and dated at 34 million years old, made it the earliest known mammal of the Greater Antilles islands.

A. sloth found in Puerto Rico in 1991, and dated at 34 million years old, made it the earliest known mammal of
B. sloth, that they found in Puerto Rico in 1991, has been dated at 34 million years old, thus making it the earliest mammal known on
C. sloth that was found in Puerto Rico in 1991, was dated at 34 million years old, making this the earliest known mammal of
D. sloth, found in Puerto Rico in 1991, have been dated at 34 million years old, making the sloth the earliest known mammal on
E. sloth which, found in Puerto Rico in 1991, was dated at 34 million years old, made the sloth the earliest known mammal of

If I were to do a 3-2 split with this question using "mammal of" vs. "mammal on," which one is correct and why? Or are these interchangeable?

Confused b/w C and D

C- seems wrong because of "this"
D- seems wrong because of "have been" <does not have been mean something that started in the past just ended>
"Single Malt is better than Blended"

I would pick between D

I am eliminating
A,B & C
. I guess the main subject here is "Fossils of ....." in the first half of the sentence and the second half tells you about sloths being the oldest mammals. So the pronouns in the second half are slightly confusing me.

Between
D & E
. I am picking D.

The Best answer is D
In A) "it" is ambiguous pronoun
B & C)Fossils is plural
Subject is not in agreeing in number with verb "has been"
E)The sloth is being modified by "which was dated"
So D

Thanks for the replies, but they still do not answer my question, which is:

If I were to do a 3-2 split with this question using "mammal of" vs. "mammal on," which one is correct and why? Or are these interchangeable?

Thanks.
