How would you convert the following sentence, which has a gerund in it, into a a partiple form.

"The PTA meeting took an unusual amount of time because of the members' analyzing of every policy in the handbook. "

- participles are adjectives without a be verb.
- participles are verb only with a be verb.

gerund is noun - they are nouns as the verb take the noun slot of the sentence i.e. object of a preposition, subject, object.

So they are not interchangeable.

Hope this helps !!
